It didn’t take long for the Democratic majorities in the Nevada House and Senate to try to attempt to turn Nevada into California. This latest under the table bill makes it illegal to carry a gun (concealed or open) onto any private property without the previous written permission of the owner, even for licensed concealed carry permit holders.
What this means is that you can be legally carrying a gun concealed, in your purse or waistband, walk into a store, and you are automatically a criminal. Current Nevada law recognizes that it’s neither practical nor wise to remove your gun and leave it in the car when every time you go into a store, so although the store owner can ask you to leave if they realize you are carrying a firearm, it is not a crime.
This law provides law abiding Nevadans less rights to carry than even licensed concealed carriers in California.
The Democratic legislature is trying to fast track this legislature for a vote this Wednesday, March 17th. Please follow the instructions below and write to all of your legislators to tell them not to remove your right to carry.

The Dems in the State Legislature are attacking the rights of gun owners with AB 286, which was introduced on Monday and has been fast tracked for a committee hearing Wednesday morning at 8am in the Assembly Judiciary Committee.
The bill creates a huge expansion of “gun-free” zones and basically turns anyone who carries a firearm into a criminal by making it illegal to carry unless they have written permission by property owners to do so. This would essentially ban carrying a firearm.
HERE IS WHAT ASSEMBLY BILL 286 WILL DO:
- Eliminates people’s right to carry firearms, even with a CCW, unless they have written permission from the property owner. Among the locations affected are churches, supermarkets, casinos, hotels, convenience stores, golf courses and even shopping malls among others.
- Follows California’s lead in restricting the long-time practice of building your own firearms.
- Creates confusing rules that could lead to people losing their right to bear arms.
- Makes gun owners into felons on just the third offense.
URGENT: WE NEED PEOPLE TO TESTIFY AGAINST THIS BILL.
